I first try to assist patients to fall pregnant naturally. If needed, I can also assist before, during and after western medical assisted reproductive technology. This includes things like in vitro fertilization-embryo transfer (IVF-ET), gamete intrafallopian transfer (GIFT), zygote intrafallopian transfer (ZIFT), frozen embryo transfer (FET), intracytoplasmic sperm injection (ICSI), intrauterine Insemination (IUI), surrogacy and donor eggs.
I treat males and females for infertility. In males I can assist with things like low, abnormal or poor quality sperm. In females I can assist with things like hormone balancing, ovulation, poor quality eggs and thin uterine lining. In both parties overall wellness and stress reduction are addressed. I prefer to treat both parties, as it increases the chances of falling pregnant sooner and helps me identify and address the imbalances.
I always aim to assist patients to fall pregnant naturally, but it is not always possible to only rely on the treatments I use in my clinic. I have thorough knowledge of how western medicine treats infertility. I work with infertility specialists to bring those patients the best of both worlds. By adding my various modalities to their western treatments, it increases their chances of falling pregnant quicker, as well as having a healthy pregnancy and baby.

I decided to see Dr. Petra after about 2 years of struggling to get pregnant. I went to her in May 2013. After a lengthy, thorough consultation and blood tests, we started fertility treatment to get my hormones balanced. This consisted of medication and bi-weekly acupuncture sessions.
