Optimize Your Health & Wellness With The Chinese Body Clock (Part 1)

For thousands of years, traditional Chinese medicine has given us insights into how our organs function when we are healthy and how it impacts us physically and emotionally when there is an imbalance.

The Chinese body clock is rooted in traditional Chinese medicine. It provides a guideline for daily routine and lifestyle choices that are key to supporting your health and wellness.

By following the Chinese body clock, you will know when is the best time to eat, sleep, exercise,  perform your most demanding activities, relax and meditate. This can guide you to understand your energy cycles and how to best nurture yourself, to do certain things and avoid others, all depending on which organ time it is.

It’s all about optimization, balance, rest, and recovery. By following the Chinese body clock you can support your health and wellness.

Health and wellness is dependent on what we eat and drink, as this gives us the energy for the day ahead.
Lifestyle, activity level, sleep and emotions also affect our energy levels. Traditional Chinese medicine believes that when energy is circulating smoothly, we experience health and wellness. When this is out of balance, we start experiencing physical and emotional symptoms. If this is left untreated, it can lead to physical and emotional illness.

The Chinese body clock is built on the concept of qi (energy or vital force).

During 24 hours qi is thought to move in two hour intervals throughout the body. Each two hours represent an organ.

We will explore this more in the next article.
